To all of our friends, loyal customers, local food supporters and fellow business owners: After much thoughtful consideration, Wendy and I have decided that the time has come for us to put the North Kingstown Great Harvest Bread Co. up for sale. This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make, but one that we feel is the right one for everybody. For the past 8 years, we have taken great pride in producing the finest made-from-scratch breads and pastries available anywhere. We have worked extremely hard to build a reputation of quality, service and cleanliness. We have loved every minute of our journey, and will always cherish the memories of being bakery owners, and we will always be thankful for your love and support. While we both still love the bakery life, the time has come for us to move on to the next chapter of our lives. And for the bakery, it is time for an infusion of energy and exuberance that new owners would bring to the table. Over the past 8 years here we have established a loyal following, both in the store and at farmers’ markets throughout RI and MA. There is a great deal more that can be accomplished by someone with the right skill set, motivation and talent to take the bakery to new heights. Beer On Earth will be open their regular hours Sunday so you can also pick up growlers of your favorite beer to enjoy during the game.

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it! Let us help you serve the perfect meal to your family. We will be accepting orders until Saturday Nov, 17. We will have various specialty breads, dinner rolls, pies, pumpkin ohs and other sweets available.

Due to staffing issues we will not be at the South Kingstown Farmers Market today. The bakery will be open 7:00-3:00 for all of your breads and sweets.

To our valued Great Harvest Customers, Since our opening in February 2011, our number one priority has been to provide you with the absolute best quality baked goods and customer service that we can possibly provide. The core of our business has always been whole grain breads made with premium, 100% whole wheat flour that we stone grind on site daily. That is our passion and that is what drives us. We have been blessed over the years with many wonderful people who have worked extremely hard to make our bakery what it is today. For reasons that I am not quite sure of, in recent times we have found it more difficult than ever to attract and retain adequate staffing. This makes an already difficult job nearly impossible, and also a lot less enjoyable! Another part of what makes this job special is that we make it a priority to have fun while we work. We believe that you should enjoy whatever it is that you are doing, whether it is work or leisure activity, and that if you are having fun while you work, the result will be better quality, and that is really the whole point! As a result of this shortage of staff we are making some changes to the bakery. Effective Tuesday, 9/11/18, we will discontinue serving sandwiches. It is our hope that this decision will allow us to focus all of our energy on continuing to make the best baked goods that we are capable of. We feel that this will allow our current staff to do their job effectively. This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but one that we feel is in the best long term interest of the bakery, and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Our front counter position is the perfect part time job for someone looking for mothers hours. Hours are 10-3 varying days Monday-Saturday.
